Wedding Wednesday: I “Loaf” You Forever- Wedding Pie Pops

Real Wedding: PBJ Wedding Pie Pops

We love seeing images from our wedding clients! And we especially love hearing the stories behind their engagements and inspiration behind their wedding details and personalization. This particular wedding has an adorable story behind their PB & J inspiration.

Real Wedding: PBJ Wedding Pie Pops

Phoebe (“PB”) and Jeffrey (“J”) go together like Peanut Butter & Jelly. The couple tied  this play on their initials throughout their creative wedding details. They even opened up their first dance with an intro of “Peanut Butter Jelly Time”. Phoebe has her own boutique letterpress and design studio in San Francisco, Plumbum Press, so she came up with the creative design for their sliced bread invitations, save-the-date, as well as the sliced bread glittery garland backdrop for the dessert table.

The couple also chose to go with the pie pops as centerpieces as a nod to the “Jelly” aspect of their nuptials.

Isn’t this “Cheers” (“a toast”- hee hee) menu so fun?! We love puns like this !

PB&J Wedding Pie Pops

Phoebe spent some time brainstorming on really creative display ideas for the pie pops and finally settled on loaves of bread, an economic alternative to traditional vases and a fun play on their theme. Guests loved it! And of course it made for some really fun and unique photos!

Congrats to Phoebe and Jeffrey!

Wedding Wednesday! Holman Ranch Real Wedding Dessert Display

Holman Ranch Rustic Chic Dessert Display

Last Spring Rachel & Matt asked us to help design a glamorous rustic chic dessert bar for their wedding at Holman Ranch, in Carmel Valley, California. If you have never been to Holman Ranch, it is one of the most beautiful wedding backdrops we have ever seen! These ethereal snapshots were captured beautifully by Erika at This Love of Yours Photography. And a delicious dinner was presented by Culinary Eye Catering.

Rachel wanted to bring in elegant milk glass and crystal pedestals as well as mercury glass details. She chose her color details based on the gorgeous palette of pastel blushes, peach, and mint that her bridesmaids wore. And used some of these same elements throughout her design, including on the tables and during dinner.

The Marquee letters for the bride and groom added a fun touch and a bit of light to the display.

The couple requested an assortment of cake pops and pie pops for their guests.

They hoped to create a “WOW” statement with this gorgeous dessert bar. They even decided on a simple pleated ruffle cake for the traditional cake cutting.

Inspired Wedding Photo Shoot with Cake Pops and Pie Pops!

We are so very excited to share with you photos from out “Notebook” inspired photo shoot we created this past June!

The concept for our shoot came after many hours in the kitchen chatting about our cheesy love for the movie “The Notebook”, and mainly, Ryan Gosling :)

Ever since we created our pie pops, Lauren has been excited to see them displayed in our custom stand which happens to be perfect for weddings as it resembles a tiered wedding cake.  The rustic nature of the pies combined with our elegant stand came together as the perfect representation of the love story of a country boy and a city girl.

A Grand Tiered Pie Pop and Cotton Candy Display on the back of a Vintage Yellow Truck

We incorporated light pink puffs of cotton candy since Allie and Noah met at the county fair.

Does it get any sweeter than heart shaped pies?

Once the idea was there, we sought a venue with the same feeling.  What we found when we toured Campovida seriously impressed, a gorgeous organic farm and vineyard with elegant structures and beautiful grounds with rose gardens and weeping willow trees.  It was perfect!

Cake Pop Display under Campovida’s arbor with flowing golden fabric and custom ribbon and cotton backdrop

Pink ombre dipped cake pops accented with “watercolored” flower detail cake pops (a nod to Allie’s love of painting.)

Cake Pops with hand painted dogwood flower details.

We knew instantly we wanted to work with Michele Beckwith for her amazing way with light and capturing those special moments.

A vintage dining table and chairs under the arbor with oversized glamorous chandeliers

Vintage place-settings and mini cake pedestals with monogrammed cake pops for each guest. Wouldn’t you love to have a wedding dinner here?!

Our bride “Allie” with a heart shaped pie pop. We love how it mimicked the heart shape of her dress!

Campovida honey favors tied with custom tags and cake pop “honey dippers”, yes, those are cake pops :)

Apple Cinnamon– Biting into a slice of this pie is like biting into the holidays. Cinnamon, butter, and vanilla bean simmer with a delicious variety of apples under a thick Texas cream cheese crust. The depth of the flavor in this butter crust highlights every sweet/tart bite!

Caramel Bourbon Pecan: We love our pecan pies with extra pecans, a scoop of caramel, and a dash of Kentucky bourbon to bring out that nutty rich gooey flavor. The top of the pie sets with a nice crunch and compliments the flaky Texas cream cheese crust. This southern favorite is at the top of everyone’s dessert wish list!

Cake Pops for a Glam Cliff House Wedding

Recently we were hired to make cake pops for a couple that were so much fun during their tasting, we knew their wedding would be an awesome party!  When we got the photos back below, they proved us right!

Another glitzy view!

During our experience making cake pops, we’ve found many uses for them at weddings.  They’ve been cute and yummy take-away favors for the guests, in lieu of a traditional cake, as escort cards for the table seating chart, and even as a unique element to a dessert display.  But this couple had other plans in mind for the cake pops.  We think cake pops as microphones take the cake, so to speak!

A Foreign Cinema Wedding with Sparkly Cake Pops!

Foreign Cinema in San Francisco’s edgy Mission neighborhood is definitely one of our favorite spots in the city.  This past fall, we had the opportunity to work with a lovely couple who chose to host their reception there.

Michelle Walker of Michelle Walker Photography, one of our favorite bay area photographers, captured these gorgeous shots of the night below!

The Romantic Foreign Cinema Courtyard

The Romantic Foreign Cinema Courtyard

During our initial tasting, Lauren explained that their interests included writing, biology, Shakespeare and of course cake pops!  She wanted these elements, along with her rich fall colors to really come through on her dessert table.  So we got to work!  Exploring thrift shops for old books, test tubes, etc. we found our props for the dessert display that would come to be one of our favorites of 2012.

We contacted Foreign Cinema’s favorite florist Natalie Bowen to create a few bundles of flowers to decorate our three tiered natural wood cake pop stand.  We loved how the rich orange flowers brought out the burnt orange sparkle on our pops!  She was even able to match the bridesmaid’s bouquet and dress.

Oranges, corals, and golds set the tone for the evening.
