Back in March we created a shiny, glamorous, yet industrial and funky display for an “Industrial Glam” themed party to celebrate the newest issue of Today’s Bride. Flawlessly coordinated by MB Wedding Designs and Events, the event was over on Treasure Island at the Winery SF and our whole team (all four of us!), got all dressed up and trekked over for a night of drinks and cuisine by Thomas John Events, dancing, even a photobooth!
We had so much fun planning and building this display that we’ve now officially added dessert displays to our repertoire! We’ve created quite a few over the past couple of years and have a blast doing them! I’ll be sharing some of those with you soon too. See below for some images from the event captured by our friend and phenomenal photographer Michele Beckwith.
And finally, a special treat from the night! A video from the photobooth! Check out your favorite cake pop girls at the 10 second mark
In March we were given the opportunity to showcase our cake pops at the Williams Sonoma Artisans’ Market in Union Square SF. We had so much fun mingling with shoppers as well as the six other talented producers that we’re coming back for a second visit! We hope to see you all tomorrow, same place (Williams Sonoma Union Square, SF), same time (12-4:00PM).

And here’s our table from last month’s event. We made up our gift boxes in green to celebrate that it was St. Patrick’s Day!
We were so excited to hear from Gourmet Business magazine that they wanted to feature our lovely cake pops on the front cover of the March edition of their magazine! And then additionally on page 27, we were pleased to find a write up about our cake pops from the Winter Fancy Food Show. Woot!
Check out the magazine HERE. HUGE “Thank you!” to Michelle Walker of Michelle Walker Photography for providing the gorgeous photo for the cover. Yay!
Often we’re given inspiration images to work from and we love the challenge! Below are a few images of recent cake pops we’ve created using these fabric inspired prints from Kelly Lyden, The Well-Heeled Hostess as a reference.
And of course, everyone’s current favorite pattern and color combo, Gray and White Chevron!
Additionally, we thought these fabric inspired cake pops would be a great segway to announce our recent collaboration with Alice + Olivia on the launch of their new store in San Francisco! We took inspiration from their Spring 2012 look book to create a display for the launch party this coming Thursday, March 22nd and we can’t wait to show you! Please see the invite below for more details or check out this cool write up on Refinery 29. Hope to see you there!
We are so excited that one of our favorite San Francisco Wedding Designers, Alicia K Designs, was recently featured on the lovely Style Me Pretty blog! And of course Style Me Pretty highlighted our cake pops as well!
This gorgeous wedding hosted at the San Francisco Design Center is a stunner! Alicia K and her team tied together industrial, rustic, and vintage details in a beautiful expression of the couples’ personalities. Studio Castillero captured some beautiful moments from the day.
Check out these highlights below! To see more imagery from this stunning wedding, check out the full feature on Style Me Pretty!

Halloween is one of our favorite holidays over at Sweet Lauren Cakes! This year we had so much fun creating ghosts, mummies, bats, black cats, spider web designs, and even witches hats! Our designs were part of a recent photo shoot designed by Kimberly of LVL Weddings & Events and photographed by Jennifer over at A Girl and a Camera Photography. Style Unveiled featured the spooky wedding inspiration shoot on their blog and we think our apples and pumpkins would make a great addition to Thanksgiving tables as well!
We’re so honored to have been a part of this gorgeous Puerto Rican wedding by Amy Nichols. Our cakepops were on display on a lovely and colorful dessert table. See more images from this beautiful wedding shot by Studio 1208 on Style Me Pretty.

This summer we were super busy and so excited to be a part of many exciting events in the Bay Area. Back in July, we were thrilled to have been included in this really cute photo shoot hosted by the Glitter Guide. The inspiration was a non-traditional book club party! Erin with Bustle Events did an amazing job styling the space and the shoot. They also featured a recipe for Blood Orange Bellinis that look delicious, and we think appropriate for Halloween as well! Hop over to the Glitter Guide Blog for some more inspiration and the bellini recipe. If I ever host a book club party, I would love to style it just like this one. Check out the drool- worthy photos by Christine Taylor below.

Please head over to Done Brilliantly, the blog of Two Bright Lights for a feature on Sweet Lauren Cakes! We were thrilled when this dynamic team devoted to all things weddings asked us to be one of their “Industry Insiders”! See what our owner, Lauren has to say about creating a business based on these sweet treats!
