We’ve been busy in our bakeshop and are just now getting around to sharing all the great things happening around us ! But don’t worry, we are back and ready to share with you all the adorable treats we have been making.
Our cake pops and pie pops have been hugely popular amongst future moms, including our owner Lauren Martin! Lauren’s baby shower from last November was featured on On to Baby (now called The Little Umbrella) with a Sweet Winter Elephants theme! We are just now getting around to actually posting these adorable images because, well, there was a baby on the way! And as you know, they can be very distracting. But we didn’t want to leave you hanging without these delicious images from our favorite photographer, Michele, with Michele Beckwith Photography.
My wonderful friend, Sarah, and our Sweet Lauren Cakes team tied in the best elements of our company and created an unforgettable party!
Sarah was so great to put up with my husband and I through the planning process to host this adorable Red, White, & Grey Elephant themed baby shower. Sarah drew inspiration from Lauren’s due date (exactly Christmas Day!) and the theme for their baby’s room-sweet elephants. She settled on the red and white striped colors to bring a little Christmas touch into the design without being overly Christmas. And the blues for the sweet baby boy!
And why elephants? My husband and I travelled the world a few years ago and fell in love with these thoughtful animals while adventuring around Thailand. We fell in love with these gentle giants and spent as much time as we could around them during our last weeks of travel. It seemed only natural that our first baby would fall in love with the elephants as well. What could be a cuter symbol of our hopes for his future adventures?!
The showstopper was a cake made by Katrice, one of the SLC decorators. It was two tiers with moist lemon cake filled with mascarpone and local honey and then dark chocolate fudge cake with salted caramel buttercream and caramel on the top tier. Is this not the cutest?!
My fabulous team at Sweet Lauren Cakes also helped plan and arrange the awesome dessert display featuring: cake pops, pie pops, a custom cake, krispy pops, and cookies! They came up with all the cute display ideas and tiny details that made it all come together. Seasonal flavors such as gingerbread spice and pumpkin stole the show along side our classic vanilla bean and red velvet. Our pie pops were made with our custom red and white striped lollipop sticks that you can order from us too! It was a great way to tie in family using Lauren’s grandmother’s secret recipe and everyone enjoyed them.
***All of display items were provided by Sweet Lauren Cakes and are available for rental or purchase for your own party! The red and white striped lollipop sticks are also now available for purchase in our SHOP (6” or 8″ packages of 25 sticks). We had these specially manufactured just for us, so keep an eye out for new colors coming soon!
